Lotte Hotels to Open a Business Hotel in Tashkent

SEOUL, KOREA- Lotte Hotels & Resorts said on October 2 that it opened a new hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Named as Lotte City Hotel Tashkent Palace, it is the first case in which the company runs a hotel overseas under a management outsourcing agreement.

Located about 8 kilometers away from Tashkent International Airport, the five-story hotel is close to Alisher Navoi Opera and Ballet Theater, Independence Square, government buildings, the National Museum of History, and the central bank. In addition to 232 guest rooms from superior to deluxe, executive rooms, junior suites, and to presidential suites, as well as two luxury restaurants and a 300-person banquet hall, the hotel is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities including the business center, fitness centers, spas, and an outdoor swimming pool.

Earlier in April, the management of Tashkent Palace Hotel had signed a management contract with Lotte Hotels & Resorts and handed over all responsibilities for running the hotel. Afterward, the hotel was renamed as Lotte City Hotel Tashkent Palace and all its employees have been trained in partnership with Lotte Hotel Moscow, the first overseas hotel operated by Lotte Hotels and Resorts under an outsourcing agreement.

With the addition of Lotte Hotel Tashkent, the company now runs a total of three hotels outside Korea, including the two in Moscow and Ho Chi Minh City. It expects to open two more hotels under similar arrangements, including one in Guam (by the year's end) and Cebu, the Philippines (by the end of 2014).
