SEOUL, KOREA- Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S4 turned out to be the world’s best-selling smartphone for August 2013.A Hong Kong-based market research firm Counterpoint Research revealed on October 16 that about 5 million units of Galaxy S4 was sold in the world market during the month of August, becoming the world’s best-selling smartphone.
This figure is slightly lower than 7 million units in June when the sales of Galaxy S4 peaked.
The decline in sales of Galaxy S4, however, was offset by the sales of other Galaxy brand models, including Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S Duo, Galaxy Fame, and Galaxy Trend.
In addition to Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 Mini ranked No. 5-8 in the best-selling list. In other words, five out of ten best-selling mobile devices worldwide are made by Samsung.
