GS Caltex is the only Korean company that is producing compound resin, with production capacities in three plants within Korea, two in China (Langfang and Suzhou), and one in Europe with the completion of the the Czech plant.
Vice chairman Huh said in the opening ceremony, "With the completion of the Czech plant, we took the important first step to make inroads into the European market." He also said his company would expand the Czech plant's capacity to 50,000 tons by 2016. The combined production capacity of compound resin for GS Caltex worldwide is 190,000 tons.
The company plans to supply the raw material to the European factories of Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, Samsung Electronics, and LG Electronics. It will also seek to open accounts with other leading car makers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Volkswagen.
