SEOUL, KOREA - NHN Entertainment carried out a strategic investment in Devsisters which is famous for its smartphone game Cookie Run, acquiring a 22-percent stake in the latter. The two parties will continue the strategic alliance in smartphone game areas in and outside Korea.
An NHN official said, "This is part of our strategic investment in game companies which have superior competitiveness and high growth potential. We expect this investment to contribute to creating huge synergy effects."
Devsisters released a smartphone game Cookie Run in April which passed the 30-billion-won level in sales in just five months after being launched. Up to now, this game remains at upper ranks in sales terms at major app markets.
Through stable cooperation with large game company NHN Entertainment, Devsisters gained a foothold to take another leap forward.
