The Ministry of Information and Commmunication announced on May 10 that it has selected 6 plans to help developing countries build e-government systems in their own countries. The 6 plans include e-purchasing, information-oriented local administration, mordernization of administration, customs information processes, patent information systems and harbor logistics.

The MIC explained that it had chosen those 6 plans because Korea had a lot of experience in building e-government systems in other developing countries before. The experience will make Korea easier to support developing countries.

The Ministry will conduct a feasibility study about the 6 plans and will co-hold an international conference for e-government initiative with the countries.

It will also work with some Korean companies to combine their know-how with government initiaves, thus doing its job more efficently.
