Gyeonggi, Korea- Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning in Korea is committing efforts to prepare the 2014 ITU meeting, slated to be the largest ever.
The ministry celebrated ITU, which will be held from October 20th to November 7th in 2014, wishing for a successful meeting. The celebration’s purpose is to solidify the relationship with ITU while collaborating with them. Mr. Choi says, “We will do our best to contribute to the world as a strong ICT country.”
The meeting included the starting ceremony of supporters, the collaboration agreement between the Ministry and ITU.
One ministry official says, “The agreement between the ministry and ITU means we are formally ready to prepare the meeting,” and, “this agreement is through the consideration of all the governmental departments.” The agreement between the ministry and Busan means the parties are making adequate preparations.
Korean legislature also gives a hand for the ITU meeting.
Twenty congressmen including Kang Eun-hee, Seo Byung-soo (Saenoori Party) and Byun Jae-il, Han Jung-ae (Democratic Party) participate as an advisory committee. They will broadly support the preparation for the meeting. ITU meeting supporters consist of 60 young people.
Hamadoun Toure, ITU secretary general, announced that he is sure of a successful ITU meeting based on strong organization in Korea, and based on the country’s reputation as a leading ICT developer.
