
Choi Moon-ki of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning signed an agreement with the ITU to collaborate for next year’s ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-14).
PP-14, the world’s largest and biggest ICT conference, hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) of Korea and organized by International Telecommunication Union(ITU), will be held in Busan, the second biggest city in Korea, as the world’s 19th and Asia’s 2nd Plenipotentiary Conference.
PP-14, a 3 weeks conference from October 20, 2014 through November 7, 2014, is expected 3,000 government delegates including 150 ministers and vice ministers attending conference and over 300,000 visitors will be attending special events such as the ICT Industrial Exhibition, Global ICT Conference, and Korean Cultural Festival.
The special events will be providing visitors with a one-stop experience of Korea’s dynamic ICT industry, traditional culture and Busan’s endless attractions, for PP-14 is not an event reserved for those in the ICT industry, but a global festival open to everyone from around the world.
Meanwhile, The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as a UN specialized agency on ICTs leads the development and global diffusion of ICT and networks by managing international radio-frequency spectrum and satellite orbits and by developing technological standards in telecommunications and has been contributed for the improvement of the quality of communication services, technological standardization, allocation of radio-frequency and satellite orbits.
