SEOUL, KOREA- Hyundai Mobis announced on October 29 that it posted sales of 8.18 trillion won and an operating profit of 686 billion won for the third quarter of this year. Year on year, sales grew by 9.6 percent and operating profit by 6.6 percent. Net profit rose by 0.2 percent to 820.9 billion won year on year.Compared to a quarter ago, however, sales, operating profit, and net profit all fell by 6 percent, 6.4 percent, and 8.1 percent, respectively.

For the January-September period of this year, the overseas business units of Hyundai Mobis marked a positive year-on-year growth of 25.6 percent in China, 13.8 percent in the U.S., and 9.6 percent in Europe.

A Hyundai Mobis official said, “The module manufacturing business suffered a decline in output in the third quarter due to the labor strike of its affiliated car makers, plus a decline in the number of workdays resulting from summer holidays.”
