SEOUL, KOREA- Kia Motors announced on November 1 that it sold 249,108 cars in October alone, including domestic sales of 39,000 units and overseas sales of 210,108 units, up 7.6 percent year on year. Domestic sales fell by 3.9 percent but overseas sales rose by 10.1 percent year on year.Compared to a month ago when output declined due to labor strikes and Chuseok holidays, domestic sales grew by 21.4 percent.
When it comes to overseas sales, the shipments of domestically-produced units increased by 22 percent while overseas production hit a record-high level at 112,300 units. During the January-October period of this year, Kia Motors sold 378,027 units at home, down 3.4 percent, and 1,946,804 units overseas, up 5.2 percent year on year.
