The IT 21 Conference 2007 to be held on June 21~22 at COEX, Seoul under the auspices of the Korea Information Processing Society (KIPS) deals with three tracks such as Enabling Technology, Digital Convergence, and New Industry Fusion.
As a key note speech, Ubiquitous ages emergence and our preparation by former MIC minister Chin Dae-je, New IT Economy Model by Eclaire chairman Mr.
Gerald C. Hsu, and On Quality-of-Service of Networked Embedded Systems will be prepared.
This years panel discussion discusses Ubiquitous eras emergence and our preparation while former MIC minister Chin Dae-je and KOCCA president Suh Byungmoon will be in attendance. For its track presentation, among others oversea professors will take part in large numbers including professor Krishna V. Palem, Georgia Institute of Technology, professor Sidney Fels, the University of British Columbia, and professor Michitaka Hirose, Tokyo University and so on.
Professor Kim Byung Ki in the Department of Computer and Information Science at Chonnam National University who serves concurrently as KIPS chairman, pointed out: "The future society is developing into a direction, which attaches more importance to each individuals inclination, individual character and creativity and which meets societys diverse demand as society structure is changed complexly." Accordingly, the future IT industrys paradigm is changing from supplier-oriented technology center to consumer-oriented service center and further Mega Convergence among industries gets attained while Ubiquitous society is forecast to be settled, he said.
Touching upon Next-generation IT Growth Engine, the upcoming annual IT 21 Conferences theme, he explained: "At this Conference, the government will announce its vision presentation and publicity plan for the nation regarding next-generation growth engine industry whereas corporate side and the academic world will present about industry competitiveness security strategy and the future core element technology to enable this respectively."
In this years IT 21 Conference, track one session discusses robot in which technology such as mechanics, electronics, control, software, sensor, brain science and industry are converged, secondly u- Health Care which improves lifes quality and prepares for the futures ripe old age, and thirdly the present condition about biotechnology, nanotechnology, and information technology convergence and industry which emerges as the futures innovative new technology and service industry associated with this.
Track two session takes a view of data and information as technology and industry field which are converged based on digital, Communication convergence infrastructure, broadcasting communication convergence between broadcasting service and communication infrastructure, and digital entertainment field as a content industry.
Track three session selected convergence field between diverse different industries based on IT infrastructure as its discussion theme. Concretely speaking, the first day (June 21) presentations include for instance Convergence Communication, Open Edge Architecture: Beyond Web 2.0 and SOA, Challenges for Information Management Technology for the Ubiquitous Era.
The second day (June 22) presentations include Embedded Computing in the Nanoelectronics Regime, On Quality-of- Service of Networked Embedded Systems, Software-Component Survivability in Mission-Critical Systems, The User Interface Era, Human-Computer Interaction and Multimedia, and Virtual Reality Technology for Edutainment.
