
Korea’s national brand value is assessed at US$1.9 trillion, ranking No. 9 among 39 countries surveyed by Korea’s Institute for Industrial Policy Studies. The institute revealed the results of its survey on the brand value of countries, cities, and corporations at the 2013 Korea Brand Conference held at the office of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to the survey, the United States came on top in terms of national brand value with $13.6 trillion, followed by Germany with $8.3 trillion. Following them were the UK, Japan, China, France, Canada, and the Netherlands.
In the category of city brand value, Seoul was positioned at the top among Korea’s seven major cities, with its brand value estimated at 396.8 trillion won. Behind Seoul was Busan with 85.8 trillion won and Ulsan with 73.3 trillion won.
In terms of corporate brand value, Samsung Electronics remained at the top for 14 straight years with its brand value estimated at 116 trillion won.
