
Through the transaction, Mando expects to move up the schedule to mass-produce drive assistant systems as the German company holds the digital signal processing technology critical to the systems. Located in Lindau, a town in Bavaria, the company belongs to a wide cluster of DAS manufacturers. As much as 90 percent of its employees consist of R&D staff. The company has also developed an around-view monitoring technology that allows 360-degree view around the car.
A Mando official said, "The around-view monitoring technology of DSP-Weuffen can help the motorist park in a narrow, crowded space without a scratch. We expect that the acquisition will contribute a lot to our technology portfolio."
