SEOUL, KOREA - Korea’s leading social commerce operator Coupang announced on November 18 that it passed the 1-trillion-won mark in cumulative annual transaction amount. This milestone was achieved in three years after the site was launched.
Coupang recorded a cumulative transaction of 1.03 trillion won during the period from January 1 to the second week of November 2013.
The company said that this was the first time among e-commerce sites to break 1 trillion won in transaction volume, excluding auction markets. Coupang has the experience of surpassing the 100-billion-won level in monthly transaction amount in June 2013.
