SEOUL, KOREA - The domestic market share of Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors remained at 70-percent level for four consecutive months. The domestic share of Hyundai Motor stood at 45.6 percent in November 2013, while that of Kia Motors stood at 32.7 percent, with their combined market share estimated at 78.3 percent.
Their combined domestic market share had remained at over 80 percent during the January-July period of this year. Their market share reached this year’s high of 83.2 percent in March.
However, after sliding to 78.6 percent in August, their combined market share has failed to recover to the 80-percent level thereafter. Their November market share was the second lowest behind September’s 77.6 percent.
