The Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) is taking action to reduce subway accidents that normally occur at the platforms. The MIC will provide Wireless Image Transmission Frequency that allows the subway conductor to monitor a platform that is hundreds of meters ahead. This will prevent death by jump suicides as well as accidental falls off the platform.

Not only preventing the accidents that occur on the platforms, the subway conductor will be able to check the subway tracks between one stop and another, deliver emergent news, provide lost and found services and trigger arrival announcements.

Considering the impact that the frequency system will have on citizens' lives and safety, the MIC will use the a quality frequency that transmits high quality images and data as well as accurate broadband networks that will cause no confusion and only offer accurate information.

The subway accidental death rate from 2002 to end of 2006 was 412 in total, mostly due to accidental falls, suicides, trespassing, and crashing between the trains. The accidents mentioned above could easily be taken care of through minor care and the MIC will no longer hesitate to take any steps that are necessary to set up the Wireless Image Transmission Frequency System.
