SEOUL, KOREA - RenaultSamsung revealed on January 2 that its 2013 sales stood at 131,010 units, down 15.1 percent from a year ago.Last year’s domestic sales grew slightly to 60,027 units but overseas sales plunged by 24.8 percent to 70,983 units.
RenaultSamsung, however, marked strong performance in December 2013 when it sold 13,407 units, including domestic sales of 7,927 units and exports of 5,48 units, gaining a foothold for a rebound.
Last month’s domestic sales marked a robust growth of 49.5 percent compared to a month ago, exceeding the 7,000 mark first in two years since 2010.
The company expects this year’s export performance to be stronger than last year’s since its Busan plant will start producing the Rogue which will be exported to North America from the second half of this year.
