SEOUL, KOREA - GM Korea announced on January 2 that it sold 780,518 units last year, including domestic sales of 151,040 units and exports of 629,478 units.Compared to a year ago, domestic sales grew by 3.7 percent, while exports fell by 3.9 percent,with its overall sales falling by 2.5 percent.
When it comes to domestic sales, however, last year’s figure represented the highest results since its inauguration.When it comes to CKD exports, GM Korea suffered a 7.2-percent year on year decline to 1,184,774 units.
Last month’s sales fell by 6.2 percent to 72,840 units. Despite a 25-percent growth in domestic sales (17,853 units), exports fell by 13.2 percent to 54,987 units.GM Korea’s domestic sales showed upward trends for six straight months,led by increases in sales of small cars, mid-sized sedans, and leisure vehicles.
