SEOUL, KOREA - Celebrating five years of breakthrough innovation at its Kilby Labs, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) announced the opening of the Kilby Labs Innovation Studio in Dallas. This interactive demo space gives customers, students and university researchers hands-on experience with technologies that are shaping the future of electronics.

 

“The Kilby Labs Innovation Studio further exemplifies TI’s commitment to disruptive innovation and the pioneers at TI who are shaping new horizons in the electronics industry,” said Ahmad Bahai, chief technology officer of TI's Analog business and director of TI's Kilby Labs.  “It’s amazing to see how much progress has been made since the opening of Kilby Labs, and now customers and others can experience these advancements first-hand through interactive demos in our Innovation Studio.”

Projects in Kilby Labs span key market and application areas including isolation, high voltage drivers, advance timing references, sensor and integrated transducer systems, and motor diagnostics, many of which are driving the next generation of industrial monitoring and automotive safety. Building on TI’s foundation of power technology leadership, the labs also focus on enabling more performance for lower power, as well as generating and managing energy to enable a greener world.

Named in honor of TI’s Jack Kilby, the inventor of the integrated circuit, Kilby Labs are high-risk innovation centers focused on delivering breakthrough technology.  The labs consist of a rotating staff of senior technical members and new college graduates who are encouraged to experiment, innovate and push the boundaries of technology in a collaborative environment that's one step removed from day-to-day business demands. Since its inception, more than 150 researchers have worked in the labs on projects that are making our world safer, smarter, healthier, greener and more fun. Kilby Labs has locations in Dallas, Silicon Valley and India.
