Training a disciple is the same

as raising a daughter.

Special care must be taken for his enter or leave,

and for making friends.

Once he made a bad friend,

it would be an irreversible evil thing.

Once the weed grew on the clean farm,

it never be able to plant the good seed.

제자를 가르칠 때는 딸을 키우는 것처럼 하라.

 

대   의

제자를 가르치는 것은

딸을 키우는 것과 같다.

출입을 엄하게하고

친구사귐을 조심해야 한다.

만일 한번 친구를 잘못 사귀게 되면

깨끗한 밭에 잡초를 심어 놓은 것과 같아서,

평생동안 좋은 곡식을 심기가 어렵다.

From the first time,

you must care not to get involved in greediness.

After all, you will fall over a precipice.

From the early time,

you must keep your morality.

Once you do one step back,

you will stand far from your morality.

처음부터 욕망에 물들지 마라.  천길 낭떠러지에 떨어지고 만다.

대의

욕망에 관한 일은

처음부터 손가락에라도 물들지 마라.

한번 손가락에 물들면

천길 낭떠러지에 떨어지고 만다.

도리에 관한 일은

어렵다고 한발자국이라도 뒤로 물러서지 마라.

한번 물러서면

천개의 산으로 가로막히듯 멀어진다.

Abstract

A man who thinks deep,

is generous to others as he is for himself.

A man who thinks shallow,

is stingy to others as he is for himself.

Gentleman shall control his hobbies,

not too deep and not too shallow.

생각이 깊은 사람은 즐기고 좋아하는 것도 적당히 끝낼 줄 안다.

대   의

생각이 깊은 사람은 

자신에게 후하지만 남에게도 후하다.

생각이 얕은 자는 

자신뿐아니라 남에게도 박하다.

사람은 평상시의 기호를

너무 몰입해서도 안되고

너무 대충해서도 안된다.

Abstract

If he does with the wealth,

I will do with benevolence.

If he does with the power,

I will do with the righteousness.

Gentleman will not be a prey of power.

If many a intentions gathered together,

it will beat god.

And gentleman will not be trapped in god.

사람이 힘을 합하면 하늘을 이긴다. 

 

대의

그가 부를 가지고 한다면

나는 인을 가지고 하고

그가 지위를 가지고 한다면

나는 의로움을 가지고 할 것이다. 

훌륭한 사람은 지위에 농락되지 않는다.

사람이 힘을 합하면 하늘을 이기고

뜻을 합하면 기질도 바꿀 수 있다.

그러므로 훌륭한 사람은

조물주의 틀속에 갇히지 않는다.
