SEOUL, KOREA - Sirgoo Lee, co-CEO of Kakao, will deliver a keynote speech on the 24th of Feb, at the Mobile World Congress 2014. Sirgoo will become the first CEO of a startup company based in Korea to speak at a main keynote session at MWC 2014.
Kakao, the provider of mobile messaging platform KakaoTalk, announced that its co-CEO Sirgoo Lee will attend the MWC 2014, taking place in Barcelona, Spain from February 24(Mon) to 27(Thurs). He will be speaking as one of the main keynote speakers of the event. The Mobile World Congress is the world's largest exhibition/conference event for mobile operators and device manufacturers that is organized by the GSMA, an alliance of mobile operators and other key players in the mobile ecosystem
Sirgoo’s keynote session will take place at Auditorium 1 in Hall 4 of Fira Grand via (the MWC venue), from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm on Monday, February 24th. For the keynote session, which is titled ‘Mobile Disrupted; Challenging the State of Play,’ Sirgoo will share the growth and success story of KakaoTalk, and discuss Kakao’s visions for the next platform strategy on mobile. The keynote promises to deliver interesting insights and messages, especially as he will be joined by the CEOs of WhatsApp and multiple western Telco’s to discuss their views of the next challenge and direction in mobile.
Sirgoo Lee said “It’s not just Kakao’s innovation of developing new business models to our messenger platform that will be in the spotlight, but Korea’s mobile industry and innovations as a whole,” and continued, “As the first non-telco CEO from Korea to present a keynote at the MWC, I hope to be able to embrace this opportunity to seek out new opportunities in our mobile platform for cooperations where Kakao and carriers can both benefit”
MWC is the largest annual conference amongst global operators around the world, where global operators and mobile device manufacturers join together to discuss future plans and industry trends for the upcoming future. Under the theme of ‘Creating What’s Next,’ MWC 2014 will be highlighting the most significant innovations and advances in mobile, to present a blueprint for the future of mobile.
