The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said on May 26 that it will implement a project to provide professional consulting services to enterprises in order to encourage the development of software technologies. The ministry will spend W10 billion (US$7.88 million) this year to enhance the productivity and trustworthiness of new software.
The new project envisages meeting software user demand by designing and maintaining new software. Under the project, the government will support firms in developing software technologies, training technical personnel and building software engineering labs.
The government expects that the project will push the country’s software development efforts to a higher level and contribute to improving Korean firms’ software competitiveness in the global market.
