SEOUL, KOREA - Texas Instruments (TI) Incorporated has again been recognized as one of the world’s most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute, an independent center of research promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance.

This is the eighth consecutive year the company has secured a spot on the list, which recognizes organizations that continue to raise the bar on ethical leadership and corporate behavior. TI was one of only five companies in the “electronics” category honored this year.

“We view our ability to operate ethically and lawfully as an asset – as vital as the technologies we develop and bring to the marketplace,” said David Solomon, TI Director of Ethics. “We are committed to applying the highest ethical standards of integrity to every aspect of our business, demonstrating the respect we have for our customers, suppliers, investors, employees and the communities in which we operate.”

The World's Most Ethical Company assessment is based on the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient™ framework, which was developed to provide a means to assess an organization’s performance in an objective, consistent and standardized way. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies, rather than all aspects of corporate governance, risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics.

Scores are generated in five key categories: ethics and compliance program (25 percent), reputation, leadership and innovation (20 percent), governance (10 percent), corporate citizenship and responsibility (25 percent) and culture of ethics (20 percent).

The company’s booklet, “The Values and Ethics of TI,” has long established the ethical expectations TI has for its employees and directors. It is in its 10th edition, is printed in nine languages and is available to every employee and on the company’s website. TI provides a detailed annual report of its ethics and citizenship at www.ti.com/ccr. TI’s 2013 report is due to be made public in May.
