HONG KONG - At today’s session, the shareholders’ meeting of Giesecke & Devrient appointed four new members to the company’s Supervisory and Advisory Boards: Georg Fahrenschon, Prof. Klaus Josef Lutz, Prof. Dr. Gabi Dreo Rodosek, and Stefan Winners. At the constituent meetings of the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board, which also took place today, Dr. Peter-Alexander Wacker was re-elected as the Chairman of the Supervisory and Advisory Boards.
Georg Fahrenschon is President of the Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband e.V. (German Savings Banks Association – DSGV) in Berlin.
Prof. Klaus Josef Lutz is Chief Executive Officer of BayWa AG in Munich.
Prof. Dr. Gabi Dreo Rodosek is Chair for Communication Systems and Network Security in the Institute for Computer Engineering at the Universität der Bundeswehr München. She is the spokesperson for the CODE Research Center.
Stefan Winners is a member of the Board of Hubert Burda Media Holding in Munich, where he is responsible for digital business.
Dr. Peter-Alexander Wacker is chairman of the Supervisory Board of Wacker Chemie AG. He has been a member of Giesecke & Devrient’s Advisory and Supervisory Boards since 2007 and their Chairman since 2009.
Franz Haniel, Dr. Dietrich Hoppenstedt, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gunther Reinhart, Johannes Ignatius van der Velde, and Dr. Susanne Weiss are to stand down from the Supervisory and Advisory Boards. The shareholders’ meeting thanked the departing members for their successful contributions to the company’s boards over many years. “With their respective areas of expertise, wide-ranging experience, and outstanding personal skills, the retiring members of the Supervisory and Advisory Boards have advised and supported us at all times and have played an important role in the development of the company over recent years,” said Verena von Mitschke-Collande, representing the owners.
On the re-election of the Supervisory and Advisory Board chairman, she added: “We are delighted that Dr. Peter-Alexander Wacker is once again happy to commit himself to both boards on behalf of our company, and that a distinguished international entrepreneur will continue to chair the Group’s two supervisory bodies in the years ahead.”
