ANGVA 2009, the first of its kind in Korea, will be held in the Mangsang Beach area near Donghae from October 26 to 30. This year's ANGVA will be the third biennial event. The first event was in Malaysia in 2005 and the second was in Thailand in 2007.
ANGVA 2009 will also provide a venue for experts in the NGV industry to share their knowledge and experience about NGVs and to discuss how NGVs can play a role in improving the quality of life in the future, according to ANGVA's official website.
The upcoming international event will be host to seminars and business forums on natural gas and NGVs. The Organizing Committee of ANGVA 2009 (www.angva2009.com) expects the event to play a role in further developing the natural gas industry by facilitating mutual exchanges and business negotiations about new technologies. Discussions will be made on ways to introduce outstanding natural gas technologies and further distribute new domestic renewable energies with a focus on reducing air pollution, preventing global warming and building clean cities.
The ANGVA exhibition will feature the latest technologies and services from major manufacturers and suppliers. There will also be a Product Presentation session where selected exhibitors will present their products to visitors.
Exhibition halls will be built especially for the exhibition, with the Econergy Wind Tower, a symbolic structure, placed in the center of the complex. The buildings will be dedicated by late August. After the expo comes to a close, the exhibition hall will be maintained as a multiplex exhibition hall for various programs and events.
The Organizing Committee will replace a total of 260 public vehicles with NGVs. This will include 39 taxis, 11 city buses and 6 street cleaning vehicles. It will also build natural gas filling facilities including an L/CNG charging station.
Mayor of Donghae Kim Hak-gi, who is concurrently chairman of the ANGVA 2009 Organizing Committee, said: "ANGVA 2009 is most suitable for the era of high energy prices in which the importance of natural gas, clean energy, and NGVs is coming into focus. Much attention will be drawn to this event at home and abroad. Through our successful hosting of the biennial international event we expect to lay the foundation for rebuilding the City of Donghae as an international environmentally-friendly city."
