SEOUL, KOREA - Switzerland’s wristwatch brand Marben announced on April 14 that it would make an official launching of its watches in Korea. Founded in a small workshop in Switzerland in 1945, Marben celebrated its 70th anniversary this year.
The brand pursues the creative spirit of Marcel Duchamp who laid a foundation for the post-modernist art. Marben will release a total of four collections in Korea, consisting of Mechaniker, Kurve, Elf Tourbillon, and Slima.
The Mechaniker collection, which reinterprets the initial models of Marben, is based on stable in-house movement, boasting high precision and accuracy. The Kurve collection expresses well the motive of Marben that focuses on the harmony between art and technology.
The Elf Tourbillon collection is characterized by a dial which rotates by means of kinetic energy whenever users move their arm. The Slima collection is known to have the world’s thinnest movement.
Marben wristwatches will be available at major department stores throughout the country from mid-April 2014.
