SEOUL, KOREA - Sundaytoz, a front-runner in domestic social game market, achieved record-high sales and operating profit in the first quarter of this year, already surpassing last year’s total operating profit.
The company saw its first quarter sales reach an all-time high at 40.4 billion won, up 332 percent from a year ago. Operating profit also jumped 409 percent to 17.5 billion won, with its sales-to-operating profit ratio estimated at a high level of 43.4 percent.
The first quarter operating profit was higher than last year’s total operating profit of 17.3 billion won. Net profit amounted to 14.5 billion won, up 330 percent from a quarter ago and up 375 percent year on year.
Sundaytoz attributed its explosive sales growth to the strenuous sales of its flagship games—Anypang and Anypang Sachunsung 2—plus the rising popularity of Anypang 2 which was released early this year.
To strengthen competitiveness in the global market, Sundaytoz has formed a strategic alliance with SmileGate which has a global service capability and a strong overseas network.
