SEOUL, KOREA - LG Electronics will begin marketing its wearable health management devices "LG Lifeband Touch" and "Heart Rate Earphones." Beginning on May 18, the company will launch the sales of the two health devices at Best Buy, North America's largest home appliance retailer, with marketing in other national markets such as the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and Australia to be made in stages.

 

 The Lifeband Touch allows the user to check her travel distances, speed, stride count, calorie consumption, and so on through the acceleration sensor and the altimeter. Just with a touch of the screen with a finger, she can see how much she walked or ran. Both products can be linked to smartphones with Bluetooth and through various health care applications like LG Fitness App, MyFitnessPal, Runkeeper, MapMyFitness, and so on. The battery lasts up to five days in one full charge.

 

LG's "Heart Rate Earphones" can measure the heartbeats by checking the blood flow in the ears with its clip-on style earphone. Along with the comfortable wearability, users can receive, terminate or deny incoming calls with a remote controller and play music in the user's smartphone. 

 

The retail prices of the Lifeband Touch and the Heart Rate Earphones have been set at US$149.99 and $179.99. The launch schedule for domestic sale has not been determined.
