SEOUL, KOREA - Korea’s big-three telecom companies have lowered the factory price of smartphones, including Samsung Electronics’ latest Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 LTE-A, after they resumed operations.On May 22, KT announced that it would make additional cuts for the factoryprice of Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 LTE-A (32GB), Galaxy S4 Zoom, and Galaxy Grand.
At present, the number of handsets for which KT lowered the factoryprice stood at 15, including Apple iPhone 5, Pantech Vega Secret Up, and LG G2.
On the same day, LG U+ also decided to lower the factoryprice of Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 LTE-A (32GB), Galaxy Win, and Galaxy Grand. LG U+ is now in talks with the manufacturers to cut the price of Galaxy S4 LTE-A (16GB) and Galaxy Note 3.
SK Telecom is not an exception. It has lowered the price of its series models, including Galaxy S4. Galaxy S4, accordingly, is now available at the price of 550,000 won, about 350,000 won cheaper than the previous factoryprice of 899,800 won. Galaxy S4 LTE-A is now sold at a price of 605,000 won.
