SEOUL, KOREA - Asiana Airlines took delivery of a large-sized A380 aircraft from Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, on May 26.This was the first time for Asiana Airlines to introduce the A380 aircraft. Its rival Korean Air is already operating the A380.
At the Airbus main office, Asiana Airlines held a ceremony to celebrate the introduction of the A380, attended by Park Sam-Ku, chairman of Kumho Asiana Group.
Park said, “With the introduction of the next-generation aircraft A380, I’m sure that we could enhance customer satisfaction with our services.”The A380 aircraft will be assigned from June 13 to the short-distance routes linking Tokyowith Hong Kong.
Theairline is also scheduled to take delivery of another A380 in late July and will assign it in the Incheon-Los Angeles route, aimed at strengthening its competitiveness on the mid- and long-distance routes.
The A380 for Asiana Airlines has a total of 495 seats, including 12 first-class seats, 66 business seats, and 417 economy seats.
