SEOUL, KOREA - Ford Korea has delayed the release of two new hybrid models which were originally scheduled to be launched within the first half of this year. The company, however, clarified that they will be released within this year. The two new hybrid models are Ford’s new fusion hybrid and Lincoln MKZ hybrid.

 

When Ford Korea displayed them at the Seoul Motor Show last year, it hinted that they would be made available within the first half of this year.

At the Busan Motor Show 2014, a Ford Korea official said, “The headquarters in the U.S. have not yet made final decisions on when to market fusion and MKZ hybrid models. We are now in talks with the main office to release them as quickly as possible.”

According to data of the Korea Energy Management Corp., the combined fuel economy of the fusion hybrid model is estimated at 19.4 kilometers per liter (19.9 kilometer per liter for urban roads, 18.9 kilometers per liter for highways), while that of MKZ hybrid is 18.0 kilometers per liter (17.9 kpl for city and 18.2 kpl for highways).
