SEOUL, KOREA - Hankook Tire won the Excellence Award from Honda Motor Co. This award has been given to exemplary original equipment suppliers. The Korean tire company said on June 3 that this award is given to the best players among Honda’s 650 parts suppliers.
In the category of tires, Hankook Tire and Bridgestone Tires were selected as the winners of the award. Hankook Tire was selected as the best supplier by Volkswagen and Ford in 2011, Volkswagen in 2012 and Chrysler in 2013.
A Hankook Tire official said, “The Excellence Award recognized our efforts to improve both quality and technology through strenuous R&D investment. We will leapfrog ourselves into one of the world’s leading tire companies by expanding our original equipment supplies to global car makers.”
Hankook Tire has supplied its original equipment tires for a variety of popular foreign-made vehicles, including Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Nissan Altima.
