There were over 40 companies attending the G-Fair Mumbai, but a few of them stood out as receiving exceptional attention, from visitors, from businessmen, or both. Of these, the Korea IT Times selected five as the most successful and well-received at the G-Fair Mumbai - the Top Five. TS Korea Co., Ltd. is one of these.
"Obviously India is one of the potential markets for us," Mr. Sean Kim, President of TS Korea, started out by saying. "But we wondered if there was such demand in the Indian market for our high-end products. Fortunately we found good possibilities there."
TS Korea produces high-end vibration therapy systems for professional athletes and fitness clubs. "We are actually manufacturing so-called whole body vibration products. I don't know if you are familiar with such category of products or not," said Mr. Kim. He explained that there are a large number of products that vibrate the body for exercise and health. However, most of the products produced use the mechanical motion to produce vibrations, which is actually harmful for the body. The TurboSonic products that his company produces use sound vibrations to move the body, and are much healthier.
One TurboSonic Therapy System can cost from US$2,000 to US$16,000, which is ten to one hundred times more expensive than ordinary vibration machines. Professional athletic organizations and weight loss clinics are major customers of TS Korea.
Good Mumbai Impressions

"We are a relatively small company," explained Mr. Kim. "Also we are a relatively new company... we were invited by to the Mumbai Fair by the GSBC. And we found that it was quite a good opportunity for us to see India, and to see the market there." Mr. Kim didn't expect to close any deals or make any profit during the event, of course. The company found that most Indian consumers don't know much about the advice, and so they drew a lot of attention at the Fair.
Mr. Kim remembered that his company's booth received quite a lot of attention from several official VIP tape-cutters at the event. Among them were Vijay Kalantri, president of the All India Association of Industries and Gul Kripalani, national president of the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber and Chairman & Managing Director of the Pijikay Group. "All of them, when they came to our stand, they said 'wow, this is amazing.'" Also they were interestd in being a distributor for TS Korea. "We are going to negotiate with a couple of candidates. Because this machinery needs a distributor who can provide marketing and after-service," said Mr. Kim. "We always nominate one distributor in each market."
So while TS Korea was invited to attend the event, and they simply decided to attend for curiosity, they wowed their potential customer base and met a few potential distributors on the first day. Anecdotal reports from officials of the GSBC say that the TurboSonic booth was always crowded, and they were one of the most popular attractions at G-Fair Mumbai. And that is why we nominated them as one of the Top Five.
