A third company that made a name for itself at the G-Fair Mumbai event was Genesis I&C. It's simple, clean technology drew visitors regularly. Because of this, Genesis I&C is also one of the Top Five.
The company was there to promote its Stand-alone Digital Video Recorder models, the SSR408, GVR-500, and other assorted video security products. Its core technology consists of four aspects - digital video sound processing, video processing system design, image security, and image savings. The company provides a completely digital security surveillance solution for any business or private citizen.
In the area of digital video sound processing, the company focuses on image compression using the MPEG 1, 2, or 4 standards. It also has DSP design capabilities in order to support many channels at once. Finally, it offers technologies to divide the screen into different channels so that one person can watch many different video feeds. It does this using multiplex generation.
In the are of video processing system design, the company has developed embedded hardware systems that can process video. It also uses a variety of operating systems to give the most customized performance - from Linux, to pSOS, to VxWorks, to WinCE. It has contributed to the Linux kernel and created Linux drivers for its systems. It is also known for being a Windows Device Driver Developer.
For image security the company provides a platform for image databases, and takes care of the problems associated with multimedia data transmission and remote control. It also has the technology to automatically insert a watermark into both freeze frames of the video and moving video in order to protect the video from forgery or other kinds of tampering.
Finally, for image saving it provides customized solutions for playing and recording the video titles, and the editing of digital video clips.
The company outline many different uses of its DVR technology. It is used, as mentioned before, for security in banking and public institutions, and also to prevent crime in convenience stores. But it is also used for protection - for monitoring sensitive areas during a disaster and for watching cultural assets. It can also be used to replace traditional yet boring roles of monitoring automated factory equipment and watching traffic to make sure there are no minor violations being broken. Finally, the company says that the cameras have been used to monitor areas to guard against illegal dumping.
At the G-Fair Mumbai, the Genesis I&C booth was not as popular with simple visitors as it was with serious-faced businessmen, quietly discussing things unknown to any but them. The CEO Lee Jung-min was a very busy guy in Mumbai, and met with many different faces, most likely from security firms and government agencies in India. However, he was reluctant to speak much about this company's activities in the Fair, most likely due to security concerns. Nevertheless, his booth and company did very well, and are expected to return to Mumbai soon.
