The fifth company of the Top Five best selected companies at G-Fair Mumbai is AM TECH Co., Ltd. It also outshone the rest with the number of interested buyers to its booth and the amount of attention that it received. It definitely benefited from the event.
Their most novel product is a small, pocket-sized printer for mobile phones. Its name is Mobile Pro Spectrum and comes in I, II, and III models. The tiny gadget connects to your PDA via the built-in infrared (IrDA), Bluetooth or, optionally, with a serial cable. With a self-contained Magnetic Card Reader,it can read credit cards and driver's licenses as well as print receipts in 42, 32, and 16 column formats. This device is often used by delivery drivers to take payment during deliveries in Korea. Since India has such a delivery-centric culture as well, many buyers were interested in incorporating that kind of technology into their businesses.
Another product, the Mobile Pro Sense, is designed to be as small and compact as possible, even smaller than the Mobile Pro Spectrum. Since it does not feature any commercial options, it can be only 2.57 centimeters, or one inch, thick, and is battery-operated. There was also the Mobile Pro Mate, which sported a card reader, and the Mobile Pro Advance, which has card-reading and wireless functionality and connects to a nearby PDA. These all have useful niches in the mobile business industry.
The company also sells a strong lineup of kiosk printers for many different applications, from manufacturing to label printing, and anything else. These no-nonsense printing solutions did not draw the kind of crowd that the pocket printers did, but they did receive some serious consideration from interested buyers.
Finally, the company also had on display some examples from their POS Printers - the kind of printers that everyone sees at stores and restaurants around the world. The products were generally easy to use, lightweight, and compatible with more commercial solutions and also PCs. Simply put down the printer next to your laptop, plug it in, and you're ready to go.
In fact, that's just what Mr. Ahn Ji-no did. He had a table set up with a laptop and in order to illustrate his printer's capabilities he plugged them in and printed out all sorts of receipts, bills, forms, and cards. There were many interested persons stopping by to see what he was making.
This kind of practical, real-world technology is something that the Indian market can take and use right away. Everybody needs thing to be printed, and there's nothing better than a pocket printer when you're on the move. India is full of businessmen and these businessmen are definitely going to be interested in anything that can increase their productivity. And that is why AM TECH was selected as one of the Top Five.
