On behalf of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea (EUCCK), I would like to congratulate Korea IT Times on its fifth anniversary.
During the last decade, the role of the Information and Communication technology (ICT) industry has become increasingly more significant with the creation, spread and usage of knowledge to create economic value in the knowledge-based economy. ICT connects individuals and enterprises via networks, facilitating the production, distribution and consumption of information by the overall economy as well as enhancing the development of the intangible economy.
Korea’s success as an ICT powerhouse is due in no small measure to the far-sighted government initiatives where strategies put in place are mindful of the point that ICT infrastructure development must be accompanied by investments in the eco-system. Ultimately, it is also a reflection of successful collaboration between government, academic and industry sectors.
We were therefore glad when the first issue of Korea IT Times rolled off the press, because it was the first English magazine dedicated to this sector, and remains our source for tracking all the latest trends and developments. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
Jean-Jacques Grauhar, Secretary General of EUCCK
