SEOUL, KOREA - LG Household & Healthcare announced on July 24 that it posted sales of 1.14 trillion won and operating profit of 121.5 billion won for the second quarter of this year, up 6.2 percent and 1.1 percent, respectively, from a year ago.The net profit, however, fell 3.1 percent year on year to 85.7 billion won.

 

The adjusted net profit is 77.7 billion won, up 6.9 percent from a year ago, excluding the one-off gain of 10.5 billion won recorded in the second quarter of last year.Its sales revenue showed an upward trend for 36 straight quarters since the third quarter of 2005, backed by strong recovery of household items and cosmetics-related businesses.

By business, the household item business saw its sales and operating profit rise 2.7 percent and 17.6 percent, respectively. Its cosmetics business also enjoyed an 11.7-percent growth in sales and 4.2 percent growth in operating profit.
