The Paladin XLC series

Systems integrator iBuyPower has announced its new line of Paladin XLC computers, aimed at gamers and high performance computing enthusiasts who want the most bang for their buck. The Paladin XLCs are packed with high performance components…but what iBuyPower seems most excited about is all the cooling technology they've packed into the towers, including a double-sized radiator liquid cooling system and two 230mm fans running at 800rpm.

"PC Cooling is a fairly simple concept, the cooler a system runs the better and longer it will perform," said iBuyPower VP Darren Su, in a statement. "The Paladin XLC systems were designed with advanced cooling systems to increase component lifespan, allow for higher clock speeds, and ensure a better gaming experience for our customers."

The Paladin XLC series is available in three basic configurations, each featuring an Intel Core i7 processor, at least 6 GB of RAM, and a variety of drive options—including up to 2 TB of hard drive storage, or an 80 GB solid state boot drive (in addition to traditional hard drive storage) for fast boot times and Blu-ray drive options. Graphics are on tap too, with the Paladin XLC V1 starter configuration coming with Nvidia GeForce GTX 275 graphics with 896 MG of video memory, a mid-tier Paladin XLC V2 offering with two ATI Radeon HD 4890s with 1 GB of video RAM, and the high-end PAladin XLC V3 sporting three Nvidia GTX 285s with 2 GB of video RAM in a triple SLI configuration. And, of course, iBuyPower is happy to set up fully customized systems for customers.

The Paladin XLC series starts at $1,399, but the triple-SLI rig with the 80 GB SSD boot drive, 12 GB of RAM, and both DVD and Blu-ray drives starts at $4,299.
