
Dozens of opinion leaders in the IT industry have been awarded for their contributions to the development of Korea’s IT industry. The awards were given to them on the 20th anniversary of the Hi-Tech Information, an IT-based monthly magazine.
A "Hi-Tech Awards"ceremony was held at the Army Hall in Seoul on June 26, where a total of 24 opinion leaders in the industry were given awards – four winners in Hi-Tech Awards category and 20 others in the category of contributions to the growth of Korea’s IT industry.

In the Hi-Tech Awards category, Kim Tae-sub, chairman of KDC Group, won the outstanding management award; Kim Yong-uk, president of KWise, the outstanding technology award; Hyung Won-jun, president of SAP Korea, the outstanding global enterprise award; and Kim Jong-sun, president of KT Data Systems, the outstanding intellectual property rights protection award.
"I’d like to thank all my staff for their dedication to KDC Group and their full support to me. Therefore, I want to share my happiness with my own staff and those in the Korean IT industry," KDC Chairman Kim said. "I’ll try to do even harder to be one of the best leaders and prove I deserve this prize I value very much."
The Hi-Tech Awards were first launched in March 1996, and have since been held to reward leaders in every sector of the Korean IT industry.
