I also would like to speak words of praise to all staff of the English-language monthly magazine for their contributions to the growth of the Korean IT industry over the past five years.
A wave of IT information has been leading conventional knowledge and values in all sectors such as politics, economy, society and culture, to a new knowledge-based civilization.
The IT industry is the backbone of national competitiveness in the 21st century. As Korea's leading city of science and technology, Daejeon is emerging as a hi-tech mecca of state-of-the-art science and technology, including information technology.
Especially, Daejeon is hosting the 60th International Astronautical Congress, an international science festival with various events and exhibitions, in October 2009.
