It is my honor to congratulate the Korea IT Times on its fifth anniversary. The Korea IT Times is one of the world’s leading magazines online and offline. I have found the monthly dedicated to introducing the Korean IT industry to readers around the world.
I also would like to speak words of praise to all staff of the English-language monthly magazine for their contributions to the growth of the Korean IT industry over the past five years.
A wave of IT information has been leading conventional knowledge and values in all sectors such as politics, economy, society and culture, to a new knowledge-based civilization.
The IT industry is the backbone of national competitiveness in the 21st century. As Korea's leading city of science and technology, Daejeon is emerging as a hi-tech mecca of state-of-the-art science and technology, including information technology.
Especially, Daejeon is hosting the 60th International Astronautical Congress, an international science festival with various events and exhibitions, in October 2009.
I am very pleased to invite the Korea IT Times readers to visit our city and meet new technologies here in every field, such as information and communications, and space and aviation science.
Park Seoung-hyo, Mayor of Daejeon Metropolitan City
