SEOUL, KOREA - A record number of Korean automotive parts suppliers will take part in a trade show to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, in order to expand into the European market.
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency said on September 15 that as many as 137 auto parts manufacturers will participate in Automechanika Frankfurt 2014 to be open for five days between September 16 and 20. A total of 79 companies will set up booth in the Korean Pavilion prepared by the state-run trade promotion agency and the remaining 58 will open separate booths.
Automechanika Frankfurt is the world's leading trade fair for the automotive industry, with about 5,000 exhibitors participating every two even number year. In the previous event in 2012, as many as 4,593 exhibitors set up booth, with 150,000 visitors coming to the venue in Messe Frankfurt. The number of Korean exhibitors was 83. In addition to automotive parts, manufacturers of other items such as car washing, workshop and filling-station equipment, IT products and services, accessories and tuning showcase their products.
Korean parts makers have so far signed deals worth US$200 million from the trade show. KOTRA expected that this time Korean companies would be able to sign much more than $200 million as the record number of exhibitors are going to the show.
