SEOUL, KOERA - LG Group decided to strengthen its cooperation with India’s Tata Group in electric vehicle business. If LG Group supplies electric motors and rechargeable cells to Tata Group which is now pushing for production of low-cost electric vehicles, it could give a boost to LG Group’s autoparts business.
Tata Group is now holding a string of famous automobile brands, including Jaguar and Land Rover.
According to industry sources on September 22, Tata Group’s high-ranking officials, including chairman Cyrus PallonjiMistry, recently had talks with LG Group’s counterparts, including chairman Koo Bon-Moo, at LG’s headquarters building in Seoul, Korea.
Ahead of Tata’s releasing of new electric vehicle Megapixel, the two groups discussed ways to promote comprehensive cooperation in supply of core electric car parts.LG Group’s autoparts business chalked up sales of 2.5 trillion won last year.
