SEOUL, KOREA - Following the release of set-top boxes by SK Broadband and KT, LG U+ also launched its own ultra HD set-top box service, jumping into the UHD service competition.
LG U+ held a press conference at Nine Tree Convention in Cheongjin-dong in downtown Seoulon September 30 where it showed off its brand-new UHD set-top box service “U+TvG 4K UHD.”
LG U+’ UHD service focuses on improving user convenience. The UHD service allows users to enjoy four different channels or video-on-demand services on a single screen. If users connect an earphone to their remote controller, they can enjoy TV silently at night.
The UHD service offers a variety of eye-catching features, including a “voice remote controller,” a functionality that controls remote controller with voice commands, and a “family live broadcasting TV,” a function that enables live broadcasting using an LTE network.
LG U+ stressed that the four-channel service, designed to allow users to watch four different programs on a real-time basis, is the first of its kind in the world.
