SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Motor announcedon October 2 that it signed a deal with Singapore’s ComfortDelGroGroup tosupply up to 3,000 units of i40 diesel taxis.Under the terms of the deal,Hyundai Motor will supply up to 3,000 units of i40 diesel taxis within nextmonth.
Since Hyundai Motorsigned the first taxi supply deal with ComfortDelGroGroup in 2006, HyundaiMotor has supplied about 2,000 units of Sonata taxis per year.For this year,Hyundai will supply 2,000 i40 Taxis to ComfortDelGroGroup.
In Singapore, a totalof eight taxi companies are running 27,000 taxis. ComfortDelGroGroup runs16,000 taxis, with a market share of about 60 percent.The latest deal willbring the total number of taxis Hyundai supplies to thegroupup to 20,000, a volume equivalent to 64 percent of the taxis in Singapore.
