SEOUL, KOREA - To cope with its fast-growing global needs, Naver recently selected GroupM as its official overseas partner.
The Korean online market is undergoing a drastic shift, driven by the mobile expansion, with the amount of online-using direct overseas purchases marking a four-fold growth over the past three years.
According to the Korea Customs Office, the amount of such transactions is expected to reach 2 trillion won in 2014, a sharp increase from 740 billion won in 2012.
Naver is Korea’s No. 1 Internet portal, having a dominating share of 75 percent in desktop computer and 77 percent in mobile area. Backed by the successful global launching of its mobile messenger service Line, Naver is expanding its presence throughout the world at a rapid pace.
GroupM is a subsidiary of the world’s No. 1 advertising group WPP and the world’s largestmedia investment company, with the amount of billing estimated at $98.6 billion.It has 25,000 employees in 400 offices across 82 countries worldwide.
