The 84th story of a full-length business novel.

A CNN reporter had already noticed this sort of desperate situation in London and took an interview with Honda personally. In the interview the reporter gave him a kind counsel as a kidney-pie. First he asked him about his future plan as below:

“I think you are losing a game here in Britain. Thus, you had better withdraw your betting like other foreigners. Already the German guy BMW has retreated. Waiting for a chance and seeing the situation is not likely to be a better game at all, I presume. Maybe, such a wait-and-see attitude might be not a safe bet at all. What do you think about it”

It was truly a pessimistic prospect for his continuous betting. At this, Minoru Honda exuded his great confidence that was to break through the deadlock. He said flatly without affectation that:

“Yeah, I do know the situation here in England. It is desperate. Thus, we are placed in an unexpected devastating situation. And it will continue for some time. So, this time is a crisis. I do agree. Also I do acknowledge my expedition has been so far a great defeat. My betting has been humiliated without any cause. I feel pricking. I have got a bloody nose here. But, I, like the timid German, do not consider the idea of dropping back in this struggle.”

Then he added something to save his appearance that:

“Well, every one of them is betting what he thinks is right. As for me, I have got a soldierly record throughout my life. As a proud samurai, I hate an escapist or a craven. I’ll not abandon my post at all as long as I live here in London. This time ordeal might be a challenge, I think. If so, I have to make a much stronger response to the challenge. Year, that’s right. It is literally Challenge & Response the famous British historian, Toynbee, said. I think that’s a right direction so that I still keep them in my mind.”

From this point of view, the commander in London must be in the same line with his boss, Honda. He continued saying that:

“And I will try my betting again after regrouping my troops. And we are expecting to come off best even if things are going badly. Yeah, I’ll try to see opportunity where other men see problems and difficulties. For this, we are about to develop diverse countermeasures. And we are to make us less vulnerable. Then I’ll confront today’s difficulties. And then I will make the best of bad situations over time. Yes, I’ll hammer them out! And that’s a way of doing business like in wild card games. Absolutely we Honda men do not quit easily. We’ll not flinch.”

Then he abruptly shouted out decidedly as below:

“Yes, it is a business but it is a long shot. And, now is not a time for a showdown at all. Right, the deal is not off yet. Not a discard! You’ll see it. I’ll win in the end.”

In this way, he revealed overweening pride even under the great financial difficulty. He, as a Honda man, was a man of that kind of kidney. And, all his words were not a kidney-pie at all but firm commitments. At his dogged attitude, the foreign reporter praised him by saying that:

“I know you are a daring and ferocious samurai like a bulldog. And you take a great pride in that fact. I have never seen this sort of a brave man like you in the world ever before. Indeed you look like a great samurai from Japan.”

In fact, it was a kidney-pie. His hidden mind was quite different from the praise. Frankly, his hidden mind was that:

“Well, in my thinking, your pride is overfull. Your haughtiness is wasteful in this business. Already it has been a losing game. Now, you have not a vantage point here in London. Further, there is not a fighting chance any more. Be clever and intelligent like the German guy BMW. That is the way to play it in this game. It is not a roulette wheel at all. Be cautious.”

Right, all of it was his hidden mind. But, the reporter said nothing. The interview was over.

Regardless of the reporter’s thinking, Minoru Honda really hoped in his heart against all difficulties. And he, as a lucky gambler, never doubted that he would win it back all. Then he played his last card. Indeed he was a man of that kidney. And he believed that:

“Even every dog has his day. As for a man, there is a complete change and alteration in life. Life is as such. Right, that’s the way to play it doggedly. For the reason, our slogan is ‘Power of Dream’ itself.”

In this point he looked like a bulldog. Like the bulldog, he and his men were to redeem the last ground. And they continued trying their good luck on one spin of a roulette wheel, saying inside that:

“The die is cast. We have to get our money’s worth back in this British gambling. In terms of gambling we have no doubt. Luck will play a role in getting back our money.”

As they expected as such, things have begun to change all of a sudden. Over time, the real value of Euro currency came to upbeat all of a sudden and gained against the US dollar. Thus, the British Poker Game began to be favorable for Honda. So the commander, Minoru Honda, could get back his money and get much more profits from the British die. All of it was an actual fact but not a figment at all. And all of it was the real background of the growth of HUM (Honda of the United Kingdom Manufacturing) in Swindon, the United Kingdom. In this sort of dogged way, Honda has got his own share in Belgium and Turkey, too. Continuously he, with his men, has cultivated his own estates in the name of assembly plants, industrial plantations and so on throughout the world. Specifically, those are located in

          ; Lahore in Pakistan,

; Ayutthaya, very close to Bangkok, Thailand,

; Greater Noida, Uttar, Pradesh, Bhiwadi and Rajasthan in India,

; Karawang and Sunter in Indonesia,

; Guangzhou (gzo) and Wuhan (hgfin China, co-owned by the Chinese warlords such as GAC (Guangzhou Automobile Group) and Dongfeng.

; East Liberty and Marysville, Ohio, Greensburg, Indiana, Lincoln, Alabama in USA,

          ; Alliston, Ontario in Canada,

; Celaya and El Salto, Jalisco in Mexico,

; Manaus and Sau Paulo in Brazil,

; Campana and Florencio, Varela in Argentine.

In this way, he has built up ‘Honda Empire’ as if the entire world had been his main land (本田) beyond Honshu. Then and then he, with his men, has come to the Korean peninsula with his horseless chariots marked ‘Passport.’ Then he is to look for his own share even in the ‘Ridgeline’ of the Korean land as the very dogged samurai armed with the acute and accurate spike, Acura(trd). Here, his Honne (inhibited mind, 本根) has been already preluded in his horseless chariots named Prelude, Passport, Acura, Ridgeline, and so on as if the Korean peninsula had been another roulette wheel like the British one.
