I sincerely congratulate the 5th founding anniversary of the Korea IT Times. The Korea IT Times is widely known as an English IT economic magazine introducing Korea's advanced technology business to the world.
Recently, the IT industry is engaging in fierce and limitless competition with no barriers between countries. I think the Korea IT Times has played a key role in helping Korea develop into a powerhouse of the IT industry.
North Gyeongsang Province is one of the local governments boasting of a highly developed IT industry. Factories of large IT companies including Samsung, LG and Daewoo Electronics are located in Gumi, leading the Korean economy. In Pohang, the nation's best engineering university POSTECH is producing excellent R&D manpower.
To attain another take-off based on such industrial foundations, North Gyeongsang Province will improve water quality and prevent flood damage through the Nakdong River development project to become a center of green growth in the cultural and economic sectors.
Along with this, we are striving to attract an advanced medical complex that will develop the region dramatically with Daegu City. We plan to actively foster the estate as a global medical complex housing IT, medical supplies and materials industries in a bid to advance the development of North Gyeongsang Province.
