SEOUL, KOREA - Nexon Japan announcedon November 13 that it posted an operating profit of 15.1 billion yen (US$129.3million) in the third quarter of this year, down 7 percent from a year ago. Salesrose 14.0 percent year on year to 45.6 billion yen, while net profit jumped 69.0percent to 13.6 billion yen.
By region, its sales inKorea jumped 64.0 percent thanks to the special demand for its FIFA Online 3and FIFA Online 3M during the World Cup period.
By platform, personalcomputer online games created sales of 35.9 billion yen, up 9.0 percent from ayear ago, while the sales of mobile games rose 41.0 percent to 9.7 billion yen.
Nexon Japan, a parentcompany of Nexon Korea, has a 100-percent stake in the latter. Nexon Japan isalso a subsidiary of the holding company NXC which is led by chairman KimJung-Ju.
