Fujifilm has introduced a swath of new digital cameras across its product lines today, offering a range of capabilities and price points designed to appeal to both entry-level photographers and serious amateurs…even pro photographers might want to take a look.
First up, the new super-slim FinePix F70EXR is a compact point-and-shoot camera with an impressive 10× wide angle optical zoom, along with a new high-contrast 2.7-inch LCD display and a super-intelligent flash designed to prevent washouts and balance foreground and background exposure. The F70EXR also features both mechanical and digital image stabilization, detection of up to 10 faces, and red-eye removal; the F70EXR also boats a 10 megapixel resolution, stores images to SD/SDHC cards, and can shoot VGA-resolution movies at 30fps. The FinePix F70EXR should be available in August for $279.95.
Next, the Finepix Z37 aims for the fashion crowd, offering a 10 megapixel resolution, 2.7-inch LCD display, and a total thickness of just 19.1mm so it can easily tuck into purses and pockets. The camera sports ISO sensitivity downt to 1600 for low light shoes, face detection with red eye removal, digital image stabiliation, and SD/SDHC storage; the camera also boasts a "blog mode" that automatically resizes images and movies for posting to online social networking sites. The Z37 will be available in a bunch of colors—we count purple, blue, black, green, and white—this August for $149.95.
The pro photographers—or serious prosumers—might want to look at the FinePix S200EXR, the company's latest DSLR-styled camera. The S200EXR offers a 12 megapixel resolution, a 2.7-inch LCD display, Fujifilm's new "super intelligent flash," and a whopping 14.3× Fujinon optical zoom lens. The S200EXR also offers a combined CCD-RAW (EXR) and JPEG shooting mode, and also offers high resolution and wide dynamic range mores, a Pro Focus mode that takes two or three shots in a burst and matting the foreground subject against a defocussed foreground and background for those perfect nature shots—the S200EXR also sports three additional bracketing modes and film simulation. Also on board: dual image stabilization, face detection, a VGA movie mode, and SD/SDHC storage. Expect to see it this August for $599.95.
For folks just getting into digital cameras—or looking for just the basics—Fujifilm is also introducing the Finepix J38 along with the A170 and A220 digital cameras. The J38 will sport a 12 megapixel resolution, 2.7-inch LCD display, face detection, and auto scene recognition, along with digital image stabilization and a panoramic shooting mode. Meanwhile, the A170 and A220 pack 10 and 12 megapixels, respectively, along with 20 MB of internal memory (to help with those pesky media card swaps), face detection, and a movie mode; both also run on AA batteries, making it easier to keep the cameras going on the road. Expect teh J38 in August for $129.95; the A170 and A220 should hit in late July and mid-August for $89.98 and $99.95, respectively.
