
LG Electronics plans to display its Web OS 2.0 TV at the CES 2015, the world’s largest home electronics trade fair which is scheduled to be held on January 6, 2015 in Las Vegas.Web OS 2.0 is an upgraded version of the smart TV platform Web OS which LG Electronics revealed this year.
Compared to existing operating systems, Web OS 2.0 features an improvement in the aspect of smart TV usability and content. The My Channels feature allows users to save their favorite channels and change the channel on the home screen without the need to search their favorite channels again.
With Web OS 2.0, LG Electronics also reduced the home screen loading time by more than 60 percent. The company secured more UHD contents through partnerships with a string of streaming services, including Amazon, and Netflix.
Since its debut in late May 2014, LG smart plus TV which is mounted with the Web OS 2.0 has been sold 5 million units worldwide.
