
KT announced on December 29 that it will launch a new mobile simple payment service Tap Sign through cooperation with BC Card and a payment certification service provider VP.
Tap Sign enables users to certify themselves and make payments by using the smartphone’s NFC (near-field communication) feature. If users make their credit card contact the rear side of the smartphone, they can complete self-certification and payments.
Since Tap Sign does not save any card information and personal information, it has an advantage insecurity. KT plans to commercialize Tap Sign payment service within the first half of next year.
AKT official said,"With the launch of the Tap Sign service, our customers now can use smartphone payment service in an easier manner. To enhance the safety of financial transactions and to ensure simple payments, KT will continue to create a variety of financial and telecommunication synergies, aimed at providing customer-friendly services."
